- Mercy rules: 15 runs after 3 innings, 10 after 4, 8 after 5.
Batting
- After stepping into the batter’s box, the batter must keep at least one foot in the box for the whole at-bat, except:
- on a swing, slap or check swing
- when forced out of the box by a pitch
- on a slap or slap bunt attempt
- when the catcher doesn’t catch the pitch
- when a play is attempted
- when time is called
- when the pitcher leaves the circle or the catcher leaves the catcher’s box
- on a three-ball pitch called a strike that the batter thought was a ball
- The infield fly rule is in effect.
- Dropped third strike: a batter who becomes a runner on an uncaught third strike and starts for the bench or her position may still run to first any time before entering the dugout or another dead-ball area. To get her out, the defense must tag her or first base before she reaches first.
Base running
- Play stops when the pitcher has control of the ball in the circle.
- Courtesy runner: with two outs, a team may use a courtesy runner for the pitcher and/or catcher of record. With a continuous batting order, the courtesy runner may be in the lineup and must be the player who made the last out.
Coaches & dugout
- Only players, managers and coaches may be on the bench or in the dugout.
- Players stay in the dugout at all times. Bathroom breaks are allowed after telling a coach or manager.
- Umpires may disqualify and eject any player, coach, manager, spectator or substitute for objecting to decisions or for unsportsmanlike conduct or language.
Equipment & field
- Coaches: please bring 1 game ball to every game.
