Registration & eligibility

How do I register?

Registration is online through Sports Connect, Little League’s official registration system. Dates and the registration link are on our Registration page.

When is registration open?

Spring registration opens in November and fall registration runs in July. Exact dates for the current season are always on the Registration page and in the gold banner at the top of the site.

How old does my child need to be?

Our divisions cover ages 4 through 15 in baseball and softball. Little League places players by league age, which can differ from their current age. Check it with the official league age calculator, then see Divisions.

How do I know if my child is eligible to play here?

Your home or your child’s school must be inside the Boerne Little League boundaries. Check your address with Little League’s League Finder, or use the map below.

What if I missed registration?

Once registration closes, new registrations go on a waiting list for the right age division. Because evaluations and uniform and equipment orders move ahead, we can only add players when there’s a cancellation or opening. We pull from the waiting list whenever we can.

Why does registration happen so far in advance?

Setting up divisions for 800 to 1,000 players takes a lot of planning: coach selection, evaluations, drafts, rosters, uniform and equipment orders, and field scheduling. Every one of our program staff is a volunteer doing this in their spare time. Thank you for your patience.

Teams & divisions

Which division should my child play in?

Players are placed mainly by skill level, within Little League age limits. When you register, your account shows the divisions your player is eligible for. Descriptions of every division are on the Divisions page. Still unsure? Email registration@boernelittleleague.com.

When will I know what team my child is on?

Every division except Tee Ball holds player evaluations each spring and fall, and the draft usually happens the following week. Once the draft is complete, managers contact each family by email or phone with their team placement.

Can my child play on a team with friends?

Only in Tee Ball, where teams are assigned and requests to play with friends may be honored. In every other division, players are placed through the draft, so friend requests can’t be honored.

Can we request certain practice or game days?

No. Requests to practice or play on specific days can’t be honored in any division.

Season & fields

When does the season start and end?

Spring: evaluations in late January, first games in early March, and the season ends with the school year. Games can be any day Monday through Saturday.

Fall: first games after Labor Day, finishing by November 1. Fall games are Monday through Thursday only.

How do I know if the fields are open after rain?

League staff post field status on the homepage and the Fields & directions page, with the time it was last updated. City-owned fields also follow the City of Boerne field status page.

Where are games played?

At Bower Field (424 Johns Road) and the Northrup Park complex. Directions are on the Fields & directions page.

Equipment & uniforms

What does the league provide?

Registration includes a team jersey, hat, socks and belt.

Players bring their own pants (the coach picks the color each season), non-metal cleats, a helmet and a glove. We strongly suggest that all girls wear a face mask. Players without a bat can share with teammates.

What bats are allowed?

All equipment must meet Little League rules. Bats must be USA Baseball certified, not USSSA. See Little League’s bat rules for the current list.

Fees & refunds

What is the refund policy?

  • Before the first evaluation date: full refund minus a $15 processing fee.
  • On or after the first evaluation date: 50% of the registration fee.
  • On or after the first scheduled game: no refund.

Getting involved

How can I volunteer or coach?

Every team runs on volunteers: managers, coaches, team parents and board members. Little League requires volunteers who work with players, including managers and coaches, to complete a background check, which is done through Sports Connect. Email questions@boernelittleleague.com and our coaching coordinators will help you get started.

How do I become an umpire?

Umpiring is a paid position: pay starts at $55 per game and goes up by division. No experience needed; we’ll train you and pair you with an experienced partner. Fill out the umpire interest form.

I have a concern about a game, coach or call. What should I do?

Please follow the 24-hour rule: wait a day after the game before raising it, then talk to your team’s manager. If it isn’t resolved, email questions@boernelittleleague.com and the right board member will follow up. All families agree to the Sport Parent Code of Conduct.

Still have a question?

Every role on the board is a volunteer, and we answer every email. Registration questions go to registration@, everything else to questions@.
